While SHOT Show is NSSF’s most important annual industry event and one to which we dedicate tremendous focus and resources, it is not the only show that makes our industry go round. Another trade show vitally important to the business of firearms is the IWA OutdoorClassics show.

Taking place annually during the first week in March and hosted by Germany’s historic city of Nuremberg, the IWA OutdoorClassics is SHOT Show’s European counterpoint. An enormous gathering of manufacturers and buyers from all corners of the globe, IWA boasts nearly 1,400 exhibitors and nearly 42,000 attendees from 121 countries.

As most of you know, NSSF works to engage international visitors to SHOT Show, helping to connect U.S. sellers with buyers outside our own borders and expand sales into new markets. We also attend IWA with the same goals in mind, meeting with a wide spectrum of industry professionals from “across the pond” in NSSF’s booth at the show Hall 5 stand 130 and through our Las Vegas Hospitality Suite located in NCC Ost/Krakau Room sponsored by the Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority. There prospective SHOT Show attendees can learn more about the show, hotels such as the Venetian/Palazzo among others and the exciting city of Las Vegas.

NSSF’s presence at IWA is an invaluable opportunity for key members of our staff to meet one on one with European manufacturers, wholesalers, buyers and members of the foreign outdoor press. It provides us a platform to more effectively network with like-minded people on a global level, opening up new lines of communication and trade, and that’s something that will prove more and more important as we advance our work with diversity outreach and retention in the coming months and years.

We’ll provide you an update of what we saw and learned at IWA once we return. For more information on the show, visit iwa.info.
