SHOT Show eNews: New Exhibit Space, Trade Shows Return to Vegas, and More

Welcome to the latest edition of SHOT Show eNews.  Your chance to keep up to date with the largest and most comprehensive trade show for all professionals involved with the shooting sports, hunting, outdoor, and law enforcement industries.

SHOT Show eXtra Filling Up Fast

Booth assignments began last week for the newest area of the Show, SHOT Show eXtra. With the main show floor completely reserved, a new area was added for companies that have either been on the SHOT Show waitlist or who are trying to find a way to exhibit at the show. It’s a great new opportunity for new exhibitors. SHOT Show eXtra will run the same days and hours as the SHOT Show and will be located adjacent to the New Product Center, one of the most visited areas at the show each year. You can view the area in the lower left portion of the floor plan.  Companies interested in participating can go to SHOTShow.org/eXtra to apply.

Pedestrian Bridge to Caesars Forum Completed

With the SHOT Show’s expansion to the new Caesars Forum, this will be our largest floor plan in show history. To make navigating between The Venetian Expo and Caesars Forum as seamless as can be, a bridge was recently constructed connecting the two convention centers—with attendees making the walk between buildings in less than one minute. The bridge was used for the first time a few weeks ago, during the recent HIMSS Global Health Conference & Exhibition, with great success.

New Product Center Will Be Bigger Than Ever at Caesars Forum

With the show’s expansion to Caesars Forum, the additional space will provide exhibitors with more opportunities than ever before. One of these will be a greatly expanded New Product Center, now located in a prime location at Caesars Forum. As we’ve seen in our surveys of both buyers and media, the New Product Center is one of the most heavily visited areas of the show each year, with both audiences in search of what’s new at the show.  One entry is included for new exhibitors who sign up for SHOT Show eXtra.

Limited Booths Remain for the Supplier Showcase

The Supplier Showcase is a two-day event that takes place the day before the SHOT Show and on the opening day of the show (January 17-18). Hundreds of the SHOT Show’s exhibiting manufacturers attend the event looking for suppliers to the shooting, hunting, and outdoor industry. If you are a supplier in this industry, the Supplier Showcase is the perfect time to make connections with SHOT exhibitors. Space is limited and we anticipate the event will sell out. If you are interested, take a look at the current floor plan. To apply, go to SHOTShow.org/SupplierExhibit.

PACK Expo Returns to Las Vegas with Rave Reviews

PACK Expo, the packaging and processing industry’s trade show, was held last week at the Las Vegas Convention Center with over 23,000 people in attendance. The event saw great traffic in the opening days with very busy aisles. As behaviors adjust to today’s “normal,” the event saw a large percentage of the attendees complete registration within the last three weeks leading up to the show. Because of this late push, rumors circulated pre-show that attendance would be light. On the contrary, the busy aisles of qualified and motivated professionals generated incredibly positive feedback from both exhibitors and attendees of the event.

Transition Begins for Sands Expo to Venetian Expo Name Change

We’ve known it as the Sands Expo for many years, but as of last week, the Las Vegas home of the SHOT Show has a new name: The Venetian Expo. Last week, the big Sands sign outside the convention center came down, and a new Venetian Expo sign will be installed soon. In addition to The Venetian Expo name change, The Venetian Congress Center, where the SHOT Show’s meeting rooms and ballrooms are located, has been renamed as The Venetian Convention Center.

A Successful Return to In-Person Events Underway

As live events continue to return with great success in Las Vegas and across the country, leaders from the trade show industry and associations gathered in Washington, D.C., this month to present a strong data-driven message: in-person events are safe, they are returning safely and successfully, and they are helping to reinvigorate the U.S. economy. Trade Show News Network featured a very good summary of the “Let’s Meet There” event. The campaign also released an informative fact sheet: “Data to Support the Safety of Travel for Professional Meetings and Events.”
