SHOT Show Insider: 2022 Updates, On Demand Wrap-Up and More

Welcome to the latest SHOT Show Insider, written by the SHOT Show team at NSSF and our show partners to keep you informed on all things SHOT Show. Let us know what topics you’d like to see addressed here in upcoming issues by emailing us at shotshowinsider@nssf.org.

It’s A Wrap: SHOT Show On Demand

It wasn’t quite the SHOT Show experience any of us could have envisioned a year ago, however the first fully digital SHOT Show is now among many firsts in the past 12 months. More than 10,600 participants from 108 countries and speaking 78 languages took part in SHOT Show On Demand. With retailers and range operators being as busy as they have ever been, it was no surprise that buyers would log in multiple times a day and spend 10 to 13 minutes on the platform each session. In addition, we hosted four Import/Export sessions (January 11-14); eight SHOT University sessions (January 18-20); and 10 retailer-specific sessions (January 21- 29). Plus, we presented ATF training and NICS presentations over the course of three weeks.

Preliminary results from our post-event survey reveals that 79% of attendees plan on attending the 2022 SHOT Show and 20% aren’t sure yet. A resounding 93% of exhibitors indicated that they plan on exhibiting in 2022 and 7% weren’t sure yet. More on the survey in our next edition of the SHOT Show Insider. — Chris Dolnack, NSSF

2022 SHOT Show Space Draw to Begin May 4

The SHOT Show team is excited to share that, for the first time in many years, there will be a full space draw which means ALL exhibitors will be choosing their space during space selection. With the expanded SHOT Show campus now including the Caesars Forum, we believe this is the perfect time for a refresh that will provide the attendees with better and easier traffic flow and will also accommodate a safe show with new protocols implemented this past year.

2022 rental agreements will be sent during February with space selection scheduled to begin on May 4.

Selection times will be based on NSSF membership and priority points.

Order will be as follows:

  1. NSSF Patron level members in priority-point order
  2. NSSF Supporting and Associate members in priority-point order
  3. Non-members in priority-point order

Companies must be a member in good standing by April 2, 2021 to be included in the member portion of space selection; please note that exhibitors will receive a booth discount which typically equals NSSF membership dues paid.

To join NSSF, visit nssf.org/join or email membership@nssf.org.

Rental Agreements for the 2022 Show

As we continue to plan for the 2022 SHOT Show and returning to our “regularly scheduled programming” in Las Vegas, we will be sending out renewal applications for exhibit space in the coming weeks. As discussed above, the SHOT Show will be conducting a space draw for all exhibitors, creating a completely fresh floorplan that will encompass both the Sands Expo Center and Caesars Forum. As exhibitors will not be reserving the identical booth space, the applications will include a request for specific booth sizes and configurations. These requests will then be utilized in constructing a floorplan that best serves the exhibitors needs as well as the best experience for attendees. Invoices will subsequently be sent out based on the requested sizes, and credits will be shown for the amounts rolled over from the canceled 2021 SHOT Show. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to email exhibitorhelp@shotshow.org or call 855-355-7468. — Jeff Pressman, ConvExx

SHOT Show Exhibitor Education Series

Following the success of the SHOT Show Exhibitor Academy online series this past year, we are looking forward to continuing the webinars throughout the upcoming year. We have several topics in mind that will support your SHOT Show participation, as well as your year-round business, but we are always looking for more topics you would like to see. If you have a specific topic or idea that you would like the SHOT Show and NSSF to provide the exhibitor community, please contact me at cleonard@nssf.org. — Colleen Leonard, NSSF

On Demand, Digital Press Kits Accessible All Year

Even though SHOT Week has passed, the On Demand platform and Digital Press Kits will be available for your use throughout the year. Attendees and media are continuing to access both sites. We encourage all exhibitors to log in from time to time to see if they’ve received any messages from attendees and media. Also, if you have new press materials you’d like to provide to media, you can add them to your Digital Press Kits at any time throughout the year. — Bill Dunn, NSSF
