Geissele Automatics Donates 250,000 Face Masks for SHOT Show
Geissele Automatics will be donating 250,000 face masks for distribution during the 2021 SHOT Show. We have had incredible support from our industry manufacturers for the show, but this donation from Geissele puts an exclamation point on it all. Sponsors big and small support the SHOT Show in many ways, and we couldn’t do it without them. We are greatly appreciative of this tremendous support from Geissele and the generosity of its owners and staff—and we can’t wait to see everyone in Vegas in January. — Chris Dolnack, NSSF
Vista Outdoor Talks SHOT Show and Why They Wouldn’t Miss It
Planning for one brand to be represented at SHOT Show is a big job. Planning for multiple brands under one umbrella serving multiple sectors of the industry, at the rate of 60 shows per year, is a year-round job for multiple people. Writer Eve Flanigan recently caught up with Michael Kinn, Events Director for Vista Outdoor, to see what this major vendor has underway for the 2021 SHOT Show—and why they wouldn’t think of missing it. It’s another great read, and you can find it here. — Bill Dunn, NSSF
Sanitizing Not an Issue at SHOT Show
Every resort along the Las Vegas Strip has implemented significant changes to reassure its guests they will be safe during this COVID-era. Considerable media attention has been generated showing off the extensive efforts to retrofit the casinos and hotel suites, such as temperature checks at the entrances and plexi-barriers at the poker and blackjack tables. However, a little thing such as a wall-mounted sanitizer unit may go unnoticed. The Sands Expo Center has noticed the need for these units and has already made modifications. Recently, the Sands Expo Center shared with us the plan and map of where sanitizer units will be or already have been placed, both with respect to those secured to walls as well as free-standing. In just the first level alone, there are 100 units being placed in and around the exhibit hall and lobby. Yes, 100! The same holds for Level 2. Each of these units will be serviced and filled by their cleaning department on a continuous basis. They have also added to their inventory enough units and sanitizer that can be rented by exhibitors, which will be included in updated forms that will be available in the Exhibitor Resource Center. As we continue to approach show time, we will apprise you of more information about how the Sands Expo Center, The Venetian Resort, and Caesars Forum are all working to ensure the SHOT Show will be a safe environment this January. — Jeff Pressman, ConvExx
Sponsorships Available to Help Maximize Visibility
When it comes to maximizing visibility for your company in the firearm industry, nothing compares to the SHOT Show. And anything you can do to help your company and products stand out will help you have a successful show. There are programs that are no cost, such as utilizing all the benefits of setting up your exhibitor profile and submitting digital press kits. Low-cost options include upgrading your online listing, entering your new product in the New Product Center (over 80 percent of show attendees and press visit the New Product Center during the show). There are also quite a few high-impact exclusive and limited opportunities available, including signage, sponsoring education programs, and print and website opportunities. Be sure to discuss your goals, target audience, and vision with the SHOT sales team, who can help put a marketing plan together with you. — Chris Tatulli, NSSF
Information on Hotel Cancellation Policies
Many people have been reaching out to our team about hotel reservations and policies that are in place during this uncertain time. As you may know, there are two ways in which those coming to SHOT Show can book a room through our official channels; directly through the Venetian|Palazzo link on shotshow.org or through onPeak for all our other partner hotels. With respect to hotel rooms booked through onPeak, every reservation is held without deposit until December 16. If the show is not permitted to take place, all reservations will be canceled without a deposit being taken so there will be no cancellation fees due. If you decide not to attend the SHOT Show, you will be able to cancel your reservation up to December 15 without a cancellation fee. As for the Venetian|Palazzo, they have always had a one-night nonrefundable deposit policy, and that still holds should someone choose to cancel their reservation. However, if the SHOT Show is not permitted to take place, the Venetian|Palazzo will return the deposit this year. I hope this helps clarify the current hotel reservation policies and provides comfort for those planning their stays in January. In the meantime, please continue to visit our Hotel & Travel page as it continues to update with adjusted rates welcoming the SHOT Show community back to Vegas. — Jeff Pressman, ConvExx
