Nightly After-Hour Networking Events Building Momentum
Buyers, media and other SHOT Show badge holders are all purchasing networking packages for after-hours events around Vegas during the SHOT Show, all adding up to more opportunities than ever to connect to customers and the overall community. You can find these packages in your Exhibitor Registration dashboard when you register your personnel for badges, and more information can be found at SHOT After Dark. If you want to purchase for team members, you can do so when registering for their badges. If you want to purchase for customers, feel free to reach out to our partners at Jampack and they can assist at wegotyou@jampack.com. — Melissa Schilling, NSSF
Poachers and Scammers Continue to be Relentless
Unfortunately, we continuously see—and receive—bogus solicitations for attendee lists (even putting our logo on it), hotel rooms dramatically discounted, and show dailies distributed in all hotels and throughout the Strip (which isn’t permitted). If it's too good to be true, go with your gut and don’t pursue or even acknowledge it. If you are unsure if something is legit, feel free to email exhibitorhelp@shotshow.org and ask us. We want to help you avoid getting taken to the cleaners. It doesn’t benefit anyone to have these scammers take advantage of our community. — Chris Dolnack, NSSF
Warning for Those Shipping Booth Freight from Overseas
As you may be aware, the United States dockworkers represented by the International Longshoremen's Association (ILA) went on strike, halting operations at various ports. Although a tentative labor agreement has been reached, the current contract has only been extended until January 15. There remains a possibility that this agreement could be rejected during the ratification process, potentially leading to a resumed dockside strike early next year and causing significant disruptions to container shipments into U.S. ports. To avoid the risk of your freight being delayed due to this potential work stoppage, we highly recommend you ship your freight earlier to avoid its arrival at U.S. ports in January. Freeman does accept freight early through its advance warehouse and we suggest you work with your carriers to ensure you do not have any delays. — Jeff Pressman, ConvExx
Have A Plan for Shipping Your Firearms to the Show
As one would expect, the SHOT Show has strict procedures and protocols for shipping and displaying your firearms. You can find information about not only shipping them to the show, but also securing them while onsite in Las Vegas and the security program that has been established. You can find all of these in the Exhibitor Resource Center under the Firearm Policies tab. — Jennifer Carr, ConvExx
Vehicle in Your Booth?
Are you planning to showcase products in your camouflaged Truck, Jeep or Tank this year? If so, Clark County Fire Department (CCFD) requires a “Liquid or Gas-Fueled Vehicles or Equip in Assembly Area” Permit for all booth vehicles. SHOT Show management will apply for a “Blanket Permit” for all exhibitors that want to display a vehicle in their booth, free of charge. To be part of the Blanket Permit, please submit the Vehicle Display Form by Friday, November 15. If you do not make the deadline, you must apply for the permit directly with Clark County Fire Department and pay the applicable fees. For more information, contact Exhibitor Services at permits@shotshow.org or call 702-216-5846. — Jennifer Carr, ConvExx
Don’t Miss New Product Center Deadlines
Don’t Miss New Product Center Deadlines
Halloween may have just passed, and weather is still warm in many places, but now is the time to start locking in your marketing plans for the show, and the New Product Center is one cost effective and sure-fire way of capturing buyers’ attention as it continues to be the number one attraction at the show. Find all the information online in a subsection of the Exhibitor Resource Center, including New Product Center Information and Pricing. The deadline is November 15 to be included in the printed New Products Center directory. — Chris Tatulli, NSSF
Plan Your Team’s Visit for Supplier Showcase
The Supplier Showcase takes place on Monday and Tuesday of SHOT Week, and it’s bigger than ever with more than 600 exhibiting suppliers in one room. As registration for exhibitors is now open, please plan ahead and make sure team members with engineering or supply chain responsibilities are scheduled to attend SHOT Week for that timeframe. Even if they don’t stay for the rest of the week, there is tremendous value in having them visit Supplier Showcase and meet with prospective suppliers that can help your manufacturing processes. — Mike Clark, ConvExx
