Venetian Going All-In on Entertainment

The Venetian Resort is quickly becoming an epicenter for entertainment in Las Vegas, and the week of SHOT Show will see multiple venues open up for big shows, including its latest venue called Voltaire. If you happen to be staying through the closing of the show and want to find something to do while waiting for your crates Friday night, U2 happens to be headlining at the new Sphere next door and Styx is also performing inside The Venetian. Might as well celebrate a great SHOT Week with a closing evening at the hottest shows in town! — Jeff Pressman, ConvExx

Take Advantage of Digital Press Kits

All SHOT Show and Supplier Showcase exhibitors have access to upload up to three media assets, including press releases, logos, photographs and videos to the SHOT Show Digital Press Kits site. The SHOT Show’s press members will have access to the online Digital Press Kits before, during and after the show, where they will look for content to create stories throughout the year. Take advantage of this free opportunity to get your products noticed. You can access Digital Press Kits by logging on to your Exhibitor Dashboard and clicking Digital Press Kit Access under Dashboard Links. This instructional video and how-to instructions help walk you through the process. — Mike Clark, ConvExx

Schedule Your Travel and Labor Based on Target Times

The move-in schedule for the SHOT Show is a complex puzzle based on numerous factors, including when we actually get different halls and ballrooms from the buildings. Not all are accessible at the same time. Couple that with available dock space and room to maneuver all the trucks and forklifts. Freeman has to establish a rigid schedule to make sure the move-in happens on time and with minimal delays or disruptions. That schedule is commonly referred to as the target times, which is the timeframe for which each booth is designated to have their freight received at the show or delivered to their booth if the freight is delivered to the advance warehouse. Please be sure to verify your target time in the Exhibitor Resource Center today to ensure you book the appropriate travel as well as freight delivery and labor calls to install your booth. — Jeff Pressman, ConvExx

Speaking of Travel Schedules . . .

It’s getting very close to finalizing your travel plans and making sure you have rooms for everyone on your team and dates/names confirmed for each room. Just a reminder for those exhibiting at Caesars Forum, Harrah’s, The Linq and Flamingo are the closest hotels and conveniently located to the exhibit halls as well as numerous dining options in the adjacent Linq Promenade. All hotels can be found on our Hotels page here. — Melissa Schilling, NSSF

The Simple Things to Do That Save You Money

Waiting until downtime during the upcoming holidays for finalizing your orders and plans for the SHOT Show may seem a like a good idea, but it will actually cost you significantly in the pocket book. There are several vendors that establish early-bird rates for services such as electrical, carpet and labor, and those rates are expiring in the next couple of weeks. Please be sure to pay attention to the Venetian-Deadline Checklist or Caesars-Deadline Checklist, which provide specific dates on which rates go up for numerous services. Establishing your orders before these deadlines is one easy way to save some money. — Jennifer Carr, ConvExx
